Holistic Emotional Release…

When you take a long hard look at life, do you ever find yourself suddenly dwelling on what is missing or lacking rather than what’s good about it? This happens when you feel that what you are and what you have isn’t somehow enough in the here and now?

To better balance and expand your view, it’s helpful to find a fresh perspective where you can focus more on knowing that you are enough and that you already have enough right now. Achieving that however is not just a shift of mental perception. It actually depends on what it is that you mentally focus on and the different emotions that you feel when you are aware of that focus.

There is a magical balance to be found when we can bring together the opposite perspectives of having enough and of feeling that we lack something. When you bring a positive and a negative together the effect is that those two opposites neutralise each other. This principle is used to great effect in Holistic Emotional Release.

By becoming aware of when you feel resistance, it is possible to neutralise it by knowing what the opposite of that resistance is for you.

  • Ask yourself the question: “What would the opposite of feeling resistance be for me…..?” Do your best to answer with your heart and body, not your logical mind.

If the resistance feels like a push and pull of tension on the inside, then the opposite of that would be a feeling of acceptance of what it is. If you imagine that the push and pull is like the palms of your hands put in a prayer position with one palm pushing forward and the other palm pushing back, then acceptance is both palms being open and relaxed either resting on your lap or hanging comfortably by your sides.

  • Take a deep breath and exhale

  • Allow yourself to focus on something that you feel resistance about.

  • Ask yourself: Could you welcome your resistance as much as you do? (no need to make it more nor less, just as much as it is present).

  • Could you welcome all the pictures, sensations, feelings of frustration as best you can in the now? Could you let that go just for now?

  • Could you welcome your acceptance of what it is as it is, as much as you do? (again, no need to make it more nor less, just as much as it is present).

  • Could you welcome all the pictures, sensations, feelings of acceptance as best you can in the now? Could you let that go just for now?

  • 2nd time: Could you welcome the resistance as much as you do? With all the pictures, sensations, feelings of frustration as best you can in the now?

  • 2nd time: Could you welcome the acceptance as much as you do? With all the pictures, sensations, feelings of acceptance as best you can in the now?

  • 3rd last time: Could you welcome the resistance as much as you do?

  • 3rd last time: Could you welcome the acceptance as much as you do?

  • Could you also welcome whatever it is that lies beyond both polarities? Could you welcome whatever it is that is aware of both polarities and yet remains unaffected?

  • Explore this possibility with your heart as best you can.
