BBC Radio Berkshire -spot your opportunity, enjoy more your job
We all like feeling better about ourselves, don’t we?
Just before Christmas, 22.12.08 - Marina’s BBC Radio Berkshire interview focused on various questions on how to perceive yourself differently and feel better even if you don’t like your job. Change can be achieved by a giving attention to small appreciations about their job which will make them feel better about their involvement rather than any drastic change.
What are you focusing on, what is worrying you or what are you passionate about? The more we keep focusing on things that we worry about the worse we feel. The Kaizen principle – small continuous improvements - is about asking yourself small empowering questions that will direct your thoughts towards feeling better about yourself and away from the fear. Our brain cannot resist answering repeated questions – like: What is wrong with me? Instead you can ask:
What are three things that I can appreciate about myself this morning?
What are three small things I can appreciate about my job today?
What are the small steps in improving my relationships with clients, co-workers?
In today’s business climate if the opportunity arises for voluntary redundancy after having done the Passion Test your future path would be quite clear and you would grasp it with a positive mind. That is exactly what happened to one of Marina’s Passion Test Participants at the beginning of this year. When clarity of your highest priorities is there it is easier to spot the opportunity.
